All About Katie Hernandez

Katie, who originally believed she was going to be an orthodontist someday, was surprised to find herself feeling strongly pulled into the field of biblical studies early in her college days. After it became clear that ignoring the feeling was not working, she stepped forward and embraced the call into biblical/theological world by transferring to Biola University.

During her years getting her bachelor's and master's degrees in biblical and theological studies, Katie discovered her passion for two distinct things: diving into the depths of the word of God, and helping others see the beautiful truths that are to be found. In those years and the years that have followed, she has been able to combine these passions in various preaching and teaching engagements.

When speaking, Katie strives for clarity for both the churched and the un-churched listeners. She is particularly enthusiastic about helping people understand the Old Testament how the Bible fits together as one grand story, and how Jesus is seen most brilliantly through with that understanding.

Katie currently lives near her family in Rancho Santa Margarita, California with her cats Fred and George. She loves reading, watching sports, and spending time with friends (who, thankfully, often end up cooking for her).
